Dear Family,
It is 1:30am and I can't sleep although I should be tired, and so I decided this ia a good time to write since I won't be rushed or interrupted.
Yesterday was Dad's birthday and he decided we should go for a hike. He found a hike in this book Sadie gave him on hiking trails in Utah and we headed out for the high Uintas. Our hike was considered an easy one but we were still pretty tired by the end. It was six miles all above 10,000 feet. We hiked past one beautiful lake after another. It took us three hours to do the whole thing. I kept thinking of our hike up Mt. Elbert in Colorado which was over 14,000 and how Dustin ran up it while the rest of us could barely make it. The evening before our hike we rode up to Vivian Park on our bikes after work, which is about 8 miles up and 8 back. We are either trying to get into shape or kill ourselves. That bike ride was crueling and I wonder how I will make it 12 miles for the triathalon in two weeks.
So there's our exciting news for the week. Hope you all are doing well.
Love Mom

Dear Family,
Jessica is giving me remidial blogging lessons. This has been a good week. We got the vents put in in the atic. Yes, I was the monkey. Where were you Robert when I needed you. And we decided not to put a sky light in the bathroom which means I don't need to go back into the attic.Yeah! And after 6 months of having the junkiest garage in the neighborhood we cleaned it out and it looks better than the kitchen most of the time. Really we can finally park two cars in it! We are starting to feel like maybe we will survive this phase two remodel.
have a good week. We love you all.

Okay that worked so now I will tell you the news for the week. Dad has spent the last 6 days at a Scout leadersip camp,Wood Badge,. He said it was really good and he enjoyed it a lot more than what he thought he would. It took up a weeks worth of his vacation time and he wasn't happy about that but now he says it was a positive experience. The Stake President and the other counselor were both out of the country, quite literally, and so he had to make a few trips back during the week, first to set an Elder apart for a mission and then a few days later to release an Elder. He usually doesn't get in on those things and he said both expderiences made the 2 plus hour drive worth it. He got home around 5pm on Saturday and was wore out.I worked around here on the remodel. Boy, that is like a broken record statement. I was able to get most of the surround tile put up on Friday and if you don't look close it looks pretty good. When you come you can just tell me it looks good because I know all the mistakes better than anyone. Now dad says our master bath is real boring, which is true at the moment. After Dad got home on Saturday we hung a few doors and put the mediciene cabinent and mirror up in the master bathe and it really looks great. It's nice to be able to have all our stuff in one place for a change. The end is in site and we are happy to have hope that some day we can sit and enjoy the house instead of constancy working on it.It's been really hot this past week. Not anything else I can think of.Good luck this week Rob on your final week at your old job.Dustin please watch for mules when your walking in the middle of the road. Thanks Jessica for setting this site up for us. I hope all of you will use it and keep in touch at least once a week.
